ESCRIMA ( RANDOM SITES ARCHIVES )
________________________________________

This section is just for sites that were either closed down or didn't have enough layouts to warrant their own section. Layouts from former/dormant domains, old webrings/cliques that I got bored of maintaining -- junk like that. :D

The Hardcore Webring
April 2001 - February 2002

This was the Hardcore Webring; contrary to the rather seedy sounding name, this was a webring for people who believed in themselves and weren't afraid to speak their minds. For people who were confident in themselves and knew that there was something that only they could offer the world. It was mostly born from a late night AIM conversation when I joked that I wanted to make a webring/clique that allowed me to paste a flashing button that read "HARDCORE" on my site. Apparently, this same idea was appealing to others because in its prime, this little webring had like 400 members. Eventually, I got bored of maintaining it, so I closed it down. Fun fact: the webring was hosted on Fuh-Q.com for a while -- I can't tell you how amusing it was to me to have a site with the URL "http://www.fuh-q.com/hardcore/". >:D

The Believe Clique
April 2002 - July 2003

I inherited this clique from Aimee of (the now expired) Vehemently.net because I liked its premise: it was a clique for people who believed strongly in an idea/feeling/dream/etc. Sounds kind of cheesy, I know, but I'm like that sometimes. Much like The Hardcore Webring, I kept it running for about a year before getting bored of it. The Snoopy layout up there only lasted a couple of days before I decided to shut down the clique. D:

TwentyFour-Play.com
September 2001 - September 2002

This domain was a birthday gift from a friend, and I hoped to use it for non-anime type sites -- weblogs, personal sites, that kind of stuff. I never really did end up using it for anything really, other than making an odd layout or two and hosting some weblogs. I eventually let the domain expire since there was nothing much I wanted to do with it.

Petite-Etoile.org
September 2002 - Still active

I bought this domain for no reason really, haha. I liked the sound of the name (it's french for "small star" for those of you wondering) and I think I wanted to try to do more personal site content, which of course never worked out. I then kept the domain simply because I used it as my email address. Actually, I still keep renewing it and I still don't use it for anything. But it's such a pretty name, I don't want to let it go. :(

Be Kind, Please Rewind
2001 - Present

The first version of Be Kind, Please Rewind opened six years ago, and it's only six years later that I bothered to make a new layout for it. How lazy is that? SIX YEARS! Everyone had a layout archive back in the day so I wanted to have one too. Later on, I began to appreciate having a backup of my layouts online -- a number of computers I've owned have either died or needed to be reformatted, so at least I could keep a record somewhere else. Also, I kind of like looking at archive sites, it's neat to see how people's style/design has changed and/or grown over time.
