++ EPISODE GUIDE: DIGI CHARAT PANYO PANYO

This series began airing in 2002 and according to Broccoli's official site, this series spans about 48 episodes. Each episode is roughly six or seven minutes long. The OP and ED songs can be found in the music files section of the site. (Note: I'm still watching this series, more summaries and screencaps will be added eventually.)

Episode 1: The first story, nyo!

The narrorator begins to speak, telling us that this story begins on Digi Charat Planet, in one of the numerous kingdoms. A princess lived in a castle, and she was very bored and restricted. But the narrorator is surprised to see that Princess Chocola (aka: Dejiko) is actually behaving and reading a book! Gema comments that Dejiko has forgotten all about snack time. Puchiko feels that something bad is in the works. Dejiko suddenly agrees, but believes that the bad things are happening outside the castle -- Dejiko feels that there were people outside who were troubled and unhappy, and because she was the Princess, it was her duty to help them out. Gema takes a look at the book that Dejiko was reading, and realizes that it's a book about great people who helped others -- Gema concludes that Dejiko was probably inspired by the book. Dejiko suddenly runs off, with Puchiko in tow, vowing to leave the castle right away, to help people out. But before she can get very far, her tutor stops her. He thinks that Dejiko is trying to skip out on her lessons, but Dejiko insists that she's very serious about wanting to help others. She uses her laser beams to get away, and takes off down the hallway, However, her tutor isn't far behind and insists that she come back, right away. Dejiko and Puchiko keep running, but the tutor begins to set traps in their way, in order to stop them. Dejiko and Puchiko try to run away for a while, but in the end, the tutor realizes how useless it is to try changing Dejiko's mind once it's set. He relents, and allows her and Puchiko to leave the castle, but also sends Gema to watch over them. Dejiko is overjoyed to finally leave the castle, and she sets off to the city, looking for people to help out...

Episode 2: A mysterious cake shop, nyo!

Dejiko, Puchiko, and Gema are walking around town -- Dejiko comments on how nice it is to be outside, but Gema quickly tells her to be quiet, since no one knows that she's a Princess, and they might cause a panic if people knew. Puchiko points out a large crowd that seems to be gathering in front of a shop. After talking to a man (who seems to be standing in line), they learn that the shop is actually a very popular cake store, that makes great cakes. They also learn that the owner of the shop, a girl named Rinna, works at her own pace -- meaning that the customers never know when the store is actually open. Dejiko gets all riled up, and runs towards the store to complain. But when the actually go inside, they see that Rinna is sleeping! Dejiko has a little temper tantrum (she wants her cake, nyo!), but Gema notices all the customers waiting outside. Dejiko decides that she'll help out by trying to bake cakes for everyone -- unfortunately, the cakes don't turn out right. Rinna wakes up, and tells them that they're missing the most important ingredient, which happens to be happiness (or rather, the happiness of others). Dejiko vows to help Rinna bake more cakes, but unfortunately, Rinna had gotten tired from baking, and ended up going back to sleep! Dejiko, Puchiko, and Gema try their best to bake the cakes themselves, in order to help out the customers...

Episode 3: We're going to catch a cat-thief, nyo!

Dejiko, Puchiko, and Gema have made a new friend -- Rinna accompanies them now, in order to help out other people. Suddenly, a cat comes out of nowhere, and jumps on Dejiko's face. A girl comes running, calling out to everyone that the cat is a thief, and chases after it. She tries to catch the cat, but mistakenly catches Dejiko -- and after realizing the cat got away, she knocks Dejiko aside, in hot persuit of the thief. Dejiko is angry that someone threw her and didn't apologize, so she runs after the girl, wanting her apology. Dejiko and company find out that the mysterious girl's name is Meek, and that she's helping her parents out -- her parents own a fish shop, and since her father is injured, Meek has volunteered to help out. Dejiko is touched by this story, and promises to help the fish shop as well. While Dejiko is talking, the fish thief walks right by them, with another stolen fish in its mouth! Dejiko and friends make their own traps, in order to catch the cat, but somehow, the cat evades all of them. After some chasing, they finally corner the cat -- but they suddenly realize that the stolen fish was really food for the cat's kittens. Meek learns that all families have it hard sometimes, and decides not to chase the cat anymore -- instead, she decides to blame the theft on Dejiko and close the case. Dejiko gets upset, and chases Meek all the way back to the store...
