++ EPISODE GUIDE: DIGI CHARAT MOVIE - A TRIP TO THE PLANET
This special is approximately thirty minutes long and was first aired in 2001. I don't have any of the music from this special, hopefully I'll be able to track it down sometime so I can add it to the music section.
DiGi Charat movie - A trip to the planet
("DiGi Charat movie - hoshi no tabi")
The movie opens with Dejiko talking. She's turned away from the camera, then turns around. She leans up against the edges of the screen, and suddenly the screen goes from normal viewing format to widescreen. Dejiko gets alll excited and rolls around in the widescreen space, and she's joined by Gema and Puchiko, who also roll around. Dejiko comments that it's been a while since they've introduced themselves, so they start the introductions -- only they do it really fast, and Gema is timing them. After all the introductions are done, it turns out that Gema's was done the fastest. Dejiko thinks it's unfair, since Gema has less to say, so she laser beams him. Rabi~en~Rose butts in, and introduces herself as well. Unfortunately, she's not aware of Gema timing her, so she just introduces herself at a normal pace.
Inside Gamers, Dejiko asks the manager if he knew that she was a princess from DiGi Charat planet. The manager knows already, as Dejiko's not one to keep secrets, so she tells him that she has decided to go back to DiGi Charat planet, and that she's taking Gema and Puchiko with her. The manager lets them all have some time off from work, and upon hearing the news about their trip, Yoshimi, Takeshi, and Kimura all get very depressed. Minagawa asks Rabi if she's going as well, and Rabi says no, since it's too much fuss. Around the corner, Pyoko and the Black Gema Gema Dan are looking very sneaky and "up to something". Since it's all settled, Dejiko summons the cat-shaped space ship inside the Gamers store -- surprisingly, Gamers is unharmed, though the ship itself looks different from its usual cat-shape. Gema says it's because the ship is dirty, since Dejiko isn't cleaning it very often. Dejiko, Puchiko, and Gema all board the ship, and after the ship shakes off the outer debris (thus returning it to its regular cat-shape), it zooms off, towards DiGi Charat planet. All the Gamers folk say goodbye, and poor Rabi~en~Rose's ears are stuck in the hatch of the space ship, so she's whisked away against her will.
Inside the space ship, Dejiko feels a little nervous, since it's been a while since she's travelled in space. Gema confesses that he farted earlier. Puchiko notices that something is stuck to their ship, and when they drag it inside, it turns out to be a very shrivelled up Rabi~en~Rose. They dump her in a bath tub with some hot water, and she re-hydrates. Dejiko demands to know why Rabi is there, and Rabi explains that her rabbit ear got caught on the ship, so she got dragged along. Suddenly, the ship radars pick up a weird message -- it turns out to be Rod Young, who followed Dejiko and company into space, on a NASA space ship. Rod is heartbroken that Dejiko left Earth without telling him. Dejiko gets annoyed and sends the cat-ship into warp, leaving Rod to stare at empty space. Regretfully, he decides to wait for Dejiko to come back to Earth, back at Akihabara.
After some time, the cat-ship pops out of warp. Nearby, the Black Gema Gema Dan have also followed Dejiko and company in their own space ship. Rik seems to be putting a plot in motion. Meanwhile, on the cat-ship, Rabi is looking decidedly unsettled. Dejiko tells her that warping causes some strain on the body. Gema thinks that it would be a good time to break for lunch, since it's still quite a ways to DiGi Charat planet. They spot a nearby planet and land on it, spotting a tea house that they can eat at. Dejiko and company order a rice cake, and are given a huge one. Unfortunately, the waitress is actually Rik in disguise, and he's laced the rice cake with sleeping powder to knock out Dejiko and her friends. He plans to take Dejiko back to Pyoko when she's knocked out. In the middle of his plotting however, Dejiko declares that the rice cake is inedible, due to its size and the leaf on it. Dejiko gives Rik-in-disguise a big lecture on the proper size of a rice ball, then Dejiko and company all go back to the cat-ship. Rik admits defeat, and for a brief moment, his image shines in the night sky. As the cat-ship continues its journey, Rik reports to Ky and the Black Gema Gema Dan that his plan has failed.
Inside the cat-ship, Dejiko and the gang are hungry. Suddenly, Ky and the Black Gema Gema Dan warship appear in front of the cat-ship. Dejiko tries to do evasive maneuvers with the cat-ship, but Kai launches many little ships from the big warship. The little cat-ship is swamped with Black Gema Gema Dan ships, and it takes some fancy flying from Hokke-Mirin and one of Rabi's kappas to shake them loose. Unfortunately, the cat-ship does get hit by one missile from the warship, which brings it down, landing on the wing of the warship. Ky makes a triumphant speech, but accidentally hits the missle launch button. He realizes that the missile will probably kill Dejiko rather than capture her, but he shrugs it off as being "evil". Just as the missile is about to hit the cat-ship, Abarenbou appears, rather ridiculously casting a fishing line at the missile. Oddly enough, the fishing line hooks the missile, and Abarenbou struggles with it, as if he's trying to reel in a big fish. As if that wasn't improbable enough, Abarenbou actually kicks the missile to death, causing it to explode safely, away from everyone. Then, he methodically hooks all the little Black Gema Gema Dan ships and does some "rampaging" on the warship. Dejiko and the gang use this distraction to escape. Ky is defeated, and his image sparkles in among the stars in space. Elsewhere, Coo is crouched in front of a grill, cooking up some mushrooms. He's planning to lure Dejiko and her friends with the smell of the tasty grilled mushrooms. Unfortunately, a monster appears and beats Coo up (it was attracted by the smell). As the cat-ship flies by, Coo's image appears in the night sky.
Finally, Dejiko and company arrive at DiGi Charat planet. They almost accidentally head to Analogue planet, the home planet of Pyoko and the Black Gema Gema Dan. Dejiko tells Rabi that DiGi Charat planet was under attack by Analogue planet. Dejiko, Puchiko, and Gema barely escaped the destruction, and got onto the cat-ship to head to safety. It was then that Dejiko decided to go to Earth, to the Akihabara District, to learn about advanced technology (the kind they had on Analogue planet). Gema berates Dejiko, telling her it's awful that she almost mistook the enemy planet for her home planet, despite such a drastic background. Dejiko gets angry and fries Gema (and Rabi) with her beams. The resulting explosion causes the cat-ship to crash land onto DiGi Charat planet.
Dejiko is thrilled that she's finally back home, and races up to the palace, so she can see her parents again. Unfortunately, when she gets there, the King and Queen are nowhere to be seen -- and the bodies of the Gema Gema Dan are all over the throne room, and it looks like they've been beaten up. Nearby, Rabi finds a poorly written ransom letter, signed by Pyoko. It tells Dejiko and the gang "if you ever want to see your mother and father, come to the old house with a bronze statue, pyo". Dejiko and Puchiko decide to rescue the King and Queen and get all psyched up for it.
They arrive at the "old house with a bronze statue", only to find Dejiko's mother and father inside, talking pleasantly with Pyoko. Dejiko is shocked, then recovers, demanding why Pyoko is there. Dejiko's mother says that Pyoko's been telling stories about Dejiko, and Dejiko spazzes, insisting that Pyoko is the leader of the Black Gema Gema Dan and can't be trusted. The Queen then thanks Gema for taking care of Dejiko and Puchiko, and admires Rabi~en~Rose for being such a fine sister-figure to Dejiko. Suddenly, the Black Gema Gema Dan space ship crash lands right in front of the house, and Rik, Ky, and Coo jump out, nearly in tears. They're jealous of the attention that Pyoko is giving to Dejiko's parents -- during the DiGi Charat Christmas Special, Pyoko told them that Rik, Ky, and Coo were her family. Pyoko wallows in some more attention from Dejiko's parents, and for a moment, everything gets all shiny and warm-fuzzy, as it looks like a picturesque family moment. Puchiko states that it's a fake family moment, which snaps everyone back to reality. Dejiko demands to know why Pyoko is trying to steal her parents, and Pyoko cackles gleefully, saying that she's evil. Then, Dejiko's parents get up and announce that they must head back to the castle to prepare for Dejiko's coming-home party and they fly off into the sky. Literally. Now that her parents are safe and have gone back home, Dejiko declares that she must punish the evil ones, and zaps Pyoko and the Black Gema Gema Dan with a super-built up laser beam, reducing the old house into smoking rubble. After all that is done, Dejiko happily announces that her parents are waiting for her at the castle.
Everyone heads back to the castle, where Dejiko and the gang are welcomed by the Gema Gema Dan and the King and Queen. Dejiko launches herself at her parents, and the party gets started. The credits start to roll to the tune of a remixed version of "Party Night", and scenes of everyone enjoying themselves at the party can be seen throughout the song/credits. Near the end of the song, Dejiko and company head back to Earth, and as the cat-ship lands in Akihabara, we see all the fanboys waiting -- Kimura, Minagawa, Takeshi, Yoshimi, Rod Young, as well as the manager.
