      Ankoro Daifuku (or as he's commonly called, "Grandpa") is the husband of Ankoro Kinako (Grandma). Both Grandma and Grandpa own Ankoro House, a local pastry/confectionary shop located in the Manekineko Shopping District. Grandpa loves to play cat's cradle, and is often seen whipping up really complicated shapes. In fact, he's so good at cat's cradle, that he impresses Puchiko -- which leads Puchiko to try the cat's cradle, and become very good at it, in a short period of time.

      Much like Grandma, Grandpa absolutely adores Puchiko, and loves having her live with them at Ankoro House. He also feels like Puchiko is one of his own grandchildren, though he's not nearly as overprotective as Grandma is. In honour of Puchiko, Grandpa bakes up a special pastry called "Puchikoyaki", which becomes Ankoro House's signature pastry. The Puchikoyaki is a big hit, and brings a ton of customers to the bakery.
