Introduction
"This is me. I'm real... right?"
This is the question that changes the life of Iwakura Lain, an ordinary schoolgirl who seems to barely live in the world around her. In the blink of an eye, her entire existence is questioned -- and we are left to watch Lain stumble towards meaning; to find the proof of her own physical existence in the "real" world; to learn that she is never alone; and to ultimately find her destined path in life -- a path that she had no choice in choosing.
Was there ever a "real" world to begin with? Or was our reality just a projection of yet another reality, one that we're not even aware of... ?

Final Updates
It's hard to believe that this shrine's been open since August of 2000 (almost five years now!). Marionette was one of my earlier websites, and I couldn't be happier with the way this site has grown.
Since being opened, Marionette has gotten thousands of visits and was even chosen as Anipike's Pick of the Week (when this site was still hosted on Stas.net). It's still one of the most accessed sites on my domain. Thank you to everyone who visited, linked to this site, and everyone who gave feedback. I enjoyed meeting fellow fans of SEL and discussing certain aspects of the series. ^^
After such a long time, I feel like I've done all that I can for this site and Iwakura Lain. Truth be told, it's been a long time since I've watched SEL, and I have neither the time nor the motivation to rewatch and redo the content here. So, I decided to give Marionette a final layout (even though I said the last layout was final) and retire the shrine. But! As long as I'm online, this shrine will always be up. Thanks again for all the support over the years, and take care!
